Job summary

GJB and Associates is seeking a Level-3 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician to lead advanced installation, configuration, and maintenance of ESS, including access control, intrusion, video surveillance, and intercom systems.

The role requires two current certifications, strong field experience, and leadership capabilities. You will train Level-1 & Level-2 technicians and coordinate across multiple client sites to ensure successful turnovers and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Two current certifications in Lenel OnGuard, Genetec Security Center, Software House, Axis, Avigilon, Bosch, or DSC.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Install and route ESS cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors.
• Set up cable trays, J-hooks, network cabinets/racks, wire management, patch panels and other support infrastructure.
• Read and interpret manuals and diagrams to understand ESS equipment functions and installation procedures.
• Perform installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on ESS systems.
• Execute complex ESS equipment installations.
• Perform complex setups and configurations of servers, PCs, and user interfaces.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for ESS systems across customers.
• Handle service calls for ESS systems at different sites.
• Conduct site surveys, prepare statements of work and internal parts lists for new ESS installations.
• Complete warehouse duties and inventory tasks as assigned.
• Participate in job-related training classes and courses.
• Conduct job site final walk-throughs and turnover to customers.
• Perform on-site customer training and development classes.
• Oversee and assist Level-1 & Level-2 technicians with duties; train them on ESS installation and troubleshooting.
• Submit daily reports on completed work and pending issues.
• Work with engineers on system databases, programming, and configuration information.
• Review project drawings and provide technical oversight or revision comments.

This role involves advanced installation, configuration, and maintenance of electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion alarm detection, video surveillance, and intercom systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience, relevant certifications, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Install and route various types of ESS cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors.
• Set up cable trays, J-hooks, network cabinets/racks, wire management, patch panels, and other support infrastructure.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams to understand ESS equipment functions and installation procedures.
• Perform installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on ESS systems.

• Train Level-1 & Level-2 technicians on ESS installation and troubleshooting techniques.
• Complete and submit daily reports on completed work and any pending issues.
• Work with engineers to create and/or verify system point databases, programming, and configuration information.
• Review project drawings/specifications and provide technical oversight or revision comments.

Requirements:

• At least two (2) current certifications in any of the following systems: Lenel OnGuard, Genetec Security Center, Software House (C-Cure 9000), Axis, Avigilon, Bosch, or DSC.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
