Job summary

Amsive, a leader in high-volume print and mail manufacturing, is seeking a Lettershop Supervisor in Bolingbrook, IL. You will lead daily mail inserting operations, manage staff, equipment, and workflow to meet production schedules and USPS deadlines.

This hands-on leadership role includes training operators, troubleshooting production issues, verifying mail accuracy, and coordinating with Maintenance and other departments. Light to heavy overtime, 12-hour shifts, and rotating weeks are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years production experience in mail/printing.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting mail inserting equipment.
• Familiarity with cut-sheet and roll-fed workflows and USPS requirements.
• Ability to train staff and enforce performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assign daily work for operators and support staff based on priorities, staffing, equipment availability and skills.
• Execute production schedules, monitor throughput and labor hours, and adjust workflow to meet mail dates.
• Coach and train employees on equipment operation, setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, quality checks and safe work practices.
• Support setup and operation of cut-sheet and roll-fed inserting equipment and verification systems.
• Review job tickets and confirm materials, machine settings, and finished mail meet customer specs and USPS requirements.
• Perform and document first-piece approvals and scheduled quality checks, including variable-data matching, sequencing, counts and envelope integrity.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinate repairs with Maintenance, ensure cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain ERP records for production output, labor, material usage and downtime.
• Coordinate with Print/Prepress/Quality/Shipping to resolve workflow issues.
• Address performance and attendance concerns, communicate shift handoffs and safety, quality, cost issues.
• Improve setup times, productivity, material waste and consistency while keeping a safe, organized dept.
• Work overtime and support other departments as needed.
