West Michigan Credit Union in Manistee is seeking a proactive Member Service Representative to assist members with lending needs and guide them through loan applications, credit checks, and underwriting documentation.

The role emphasizes accurate debt-to-income calculations and open memberships, with opportunities to promote additional products while maintaining in-depth knowledge of credit union offerings. A strong focus on communication and attention to detail is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CU*Answers experience preferred.
• Lending experience preferred.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be detailed oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with the loan application process.
• Pull credit reports and calculate debt-to-income ratios.
• Prepare loan applications for underwriting and complete documentation to fund or deny a request.
• Open memberships.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and recommend suitable products and services.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of all credit union products, accounts, policies and procedures.
