Job summary

Carter Bank seeks a Compliance Analyst to safeguard consumer lending operations and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations across Virginia and North Carolina. You will support the Compliance Director, develop monitoring and training programs, and help implement changes for regulatory alignment.

The role requires strong knowledge of lending regs, data analysis, and collaboration with lending teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.
• Experience assisting in regulatory compliance, including monitoring tests and reviews.
• Good balance between regulatory, practical knowledge and experience to advise others.
• Prior banking experience preferred.
• Complete ABA’s Lending Certification program within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Follow the four pillars of the Compliance Program: policy, monitoring, training and consumer complaint handling.
• Serve as the primary contact to assist lending with day-to-day compliance questions.
• Identify and resolve issues and escalate to the Compliance Director as needed.
• Perform monitoring reviews and prepare reports with recommendations for improvements.
• Serve as liaison for lending projects such as new software, forms and processes.
• Review and approve marketing materials related to lending.
• Implement regulatory change management plans as lending regulations change.
• Maintain the Compliance Management Program per FDIC standards.
• Assist with rollout of policies and procedures with management staff.
• Coordinate the Annual Review of bank policies and procedures.
• Maintain the Risk-based Monitoring Program for bank products and services.
• Serve as liaison for external audits and examinations by regulators.
• Assist with processing of complaints as needed.
