Job summary

Carter Bank is seeking a Collateral Review Specialist in Martinsville, VA to oversee the collateral review process for loans pledged to FHLB and FRB. This role ensures access to contingent funding and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

You will evaluate loan originations, audit documentation, and monitor collateral to support risk management and funding reliability. The position requires attention to detail and strong knowledge of loan documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in loan operations, credit administration, or a related banking function required.
• Experience submitting QCRs or managing a loan collateral pledge program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate new loan originations for FHLB/FRB pledging.
• Audit files to verify promissory notes, security instruments, insurance, and title policies.
• Monitor pledged collateral for compliance with FHLB/FRB guidelines.
• Prepare and submit Qualified Collateral Reports (QCRs) on schedule.
• Prepare and submit monthly FRB certifications.
• Update DNA system coding for pledging reviews.
• Track and reconcile pledged loan pools and collateral balances.
• Coordinate with lenders, operations, and compliance to fix documentation.
• Stay current with policy changes and suggest process improvements.
• Support audits and contingency funding planning related to pledged assets.
