Job summary

House of Delegates seeks a Committee Clerk for the 2027 Session to provide logistical support and detailed recordkeeping for committee meetings in the General Assembly Building. You will assist with patron notices and agendas, coordinating with Leadership and Legislative Services staff.

The role requires knowledge of the committee process and the ability to ensure adherence to parliamentary procedures, plus tracking bills and communicating actions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of House of Delegates committee process/procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support and administrative recordkeeping for legislative committee meetings during session.
• Provide efficient and professional staff support for legislative committees and subcommittees during the legislative session including creation of patron notices and agendas in coordination with committee leadership and Legislative Services staff.
• Ensure parliamentary procedures are followed in committee and subcommittee meetings.
• Track all assigned bills throughout the committee process. Accurately record and communicate committee and subcommittee actions in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Efficiently operate committee databases (e.g. iHOD, HOD Speak, and HOD Voting) and related technology.
