The Ohio Legislative Service Commission is seeking legislation processing specialists to join our team. These roles provide typing, proofreading, and final processing of legislative documents for members of the Ohio General Assembly, using custom software and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities include entering data, applying proper styles, and monitoring a database while supporting night/weekend schedules and overtime as needed. A strong data-entry focus and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Typing and proofreading of legislative documents with speed and accuracy
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
• Ability to organize materials in alphanumeric order
• Proficiency with word processing and data entry
• Willingness to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Typing, formatting, and proofreading of bills, amendments, and resolutions
• Electronically processing final versions of documents
• Applying drafting styles and rules
• Monitoring an assignment database to support timely completion
• Entering and verifying data as needed
• Staffing bill preparation areas during night work or other required times
• Assisting colleagues with typing, proofreading, and processing of supporting documents
• Providing customer service and assisting staff with inquiries
