The role includes recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention while partnering with Human Resources to guide policy and compensation decisions.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated experience managing large legal support teams.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive management experience, preferably within a legal/professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of legal support staff management, including hiring, development, day-to-day supervision, and performance management.
• Collaborate with practice management to align staff resources and training with evolving needs.
• Provide leadership to assigned staff, including resource allocation, schedule management, performance reviews, and compensation in collaboration with HR.
• Ensure legal support staff have the skills and training to meet practice group needs.
• Analyze reports to generate insights, recommendations, and strategies to enhance team performance.
• Conduct regular check-ins with legal support staff and attorneys.
• Partner with HR and Legal Support Administrator for policy guidance on coaching, counseling, and career development.
• Strengthen relationships with attorneys and staff to boost productivity and retention, and support engagement initiatives.
• Ensure proper workload distribution to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Build strong relationships with staff and firm departments to identify workflow improvements and resolve issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
