Job summary

CleanCapital, a NYC-based in-house energy company, seeks a Legal Operations Manager to own the legal tech stack, CLM, e-billing, and vendor relationships in our New York City office.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead cross-functional projects to improve legal workflows, manage outside counsel, and develop KPI reports. AI literacy is highly valued, including Harvey AI usage.

Qualifications

• AI literacy including understanding AI strengths, limitations, and ethics.
• 3–6 years of experience in legal operations or law firm practice management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels including c-suite.

Responsibilities

• Own the legal department’s technology stack including CLM, e-billing, matter and document management systems.
• Own corporate compliance and entity management, including onboarding entities with registered agent coordination.
• Assist with outside counsel management including invoice routing and review.
• Build and maintain reporting for legal spend, matter status, and KPIs; present findings to General Counsel.
• Lead cross-functional projects to improve legal workflow efficiency (intake, contract routing, approvals).
• Manage legal holds and coordinate with IT and records management on retention policy.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard legal technology vendors; manage renewals and terms.
• Create and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and training materials for the legal team.
