Our customer, a leading global technology company that’s driving innovation in social connectivity, AI, and immersive digital experiences is seeking a Legal Operations Manager to support its growing legal department.

Location: Washington, DC, / New York, United States (Onsite)

Start Date: December 2025

Mode: Contract - 12 Months / 40 hours / week

Responsibilities

Supporting the Legal team in managing spend initiatives across the EMEA region.
Reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating law firm rate proposals across EMEA and APAC.
Driving alternative fee arrangement (AFA) discussions on high-value legal matters and identifying new opportunities to implement AFAs.
Contributing to training sessions and knowledge-sharing efforts related to AFAs.
Managing the full lifecycle of RFPs from initial design and distribution to evaluation, interviews, and final selection in coordination with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Partnering with the Legal team and RFP vendor to develop and refine RFP templates and processes.
Conducting legal market research and benchmarking to inform and support rate negotiations with law firms across EMEA and APAC.
Developing process documentation, guidelines, and playbooks to standardize and enhance legal operations.
Leading discussions and negotiations with law firms on pricing strategies and individual matter budgets.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience at a law firm/legal consulting service provider with exposure to EMEA and APAC markets
8-10+ years’ working in pricing/commercial finance/proc roles in the legal sector
Outside Counsel management including experience in benchmarking hourly rates
Solid understanding of legal pricing specifically knowledge of and experience in negotiating AFAs
Experience in developing/implementing solutions through financial modeling to support pricing decisions and operational improvements
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to work proactively, independently, balance multiple hi-pri mandates, in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to create relationships with XFN teams
Technologically savvy, AI exposure and experienced with Google and Microsoft suites

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience at a Tech, Financial Services or Life Sciences company
Prior experience within an in-house corporate legal department
Familiarity with AI
Familiarity with eBilling software
Familiarity with RFP software
Familiarity with Tableau and other dashboarding tools
