Job summary

Slate is seeking the first Legal Operations Manager to design and optimize the legal department's service delivery model, starting with intake and triage and extending through contract management and knowledge resources.

You will implement scalable workflows, lead the adoption of a CLM system and e-billing, and partner with Finance, IT, and business teams to align legal data with company systems. This role reports to the Associate General Counsel - Commercial and prefers Detroit metro relocation.

Qualifications

Process-oriented and ability to design scalable workflows.
Strong influence and persuasive communication to drive adoption.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration with executives and partners.
Analytical thinker who connects data across processes to drive change.
Self-aware with ethical approach to decision-making.
5+ years in legal operations, process improvement or program management in a legal/compliance setting.
Experience implementing legal tech platforms and budgeting knowledge.

Responsibilities

Design the legal department's operating model from intake to execution and reporting.
Build scalable workflows for high-volume requests (marketing reviews).
Lead tool selection and implementation for CLM, DMS, and e-billing; align with finance/IT.
