Job summary

CORE POWER is seeking an early-career Legal Counsel to support the legal team under the supervision of senior lawyers. The role offers exposure to corporate, commercial and regulatory work in a high-growth energy and infrastructure setting.

Based in Washington, DC, you will assist with cross-border transactions, governance matters and risk management while developing practical drafting and advisory skills in a dynamic, mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales preferred) or attorney with 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Foundational grounding in corporate and commercial law.
• Experience with multinational organizations or complex structures preferred.
• Exposure to corporate/M&A, project finance, or capital markets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, shareholder agreements, financing arrangements and major commercial contracts.
• Assists with corporate development activities, including acquisitions, capital markets initiatives and project finance transactions involving energy infrastructure assets.
• Drafts, reviews and negotiates a broad range of commercial contracts and corporate documents, with increasing autonomy.
• Assists with corporate governance across the group, intercompany structuring and entity management.
• Provides practical, commercially minded legal advice and identifies regulatory risks with mitigation strategies.
