Job summary

Ausenco is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its North American team, with offices in Hermosillo, Chihuahua, or Tucson. You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on corporate, environmental and securities law, and collaborate with the global legal team on multi-jurisdictional issues. A Mexico bar is required; US bar is a plus.

Qualifications

• Legal degree and bar admission in Mexico is required.
• Minimum 7 years post-call experience in construction/corporate/commercial law.
• Experience with Employment, Intellectual Property, REPSE filings, Privacy and Securities law beneficial.
• Strong background in legal concepts for engineering services and EPCM projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft and review construction contracts and MSAs, NDAs, mitigating risk.
• Collaborate with global legal team on multi-jurisdictional issues.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation and evidence gathering.
• Advise internal clients on corporate, commercial, environmental, mining and securities law.
• Research legal inquiries and support business disputes and regulatory issues.
• Provide training on legal topics and support contract handovers with project teams.
• Develop commercial proposals and pricing strategies with senior management.
• Mentor and coach other Legal team members.
