Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active NY bar membership.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction, commercial contracts, insurance, litigation, or claims.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other commercial agreements.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Sound judgment and practical problem-solving approach.
• Ability to collaborate with project managers and operational personnel.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, procurement documents and owner contracts to identify material risks and assist with RFIs and bid qualifications.
• Draft, review and negotiate construction-related agreements including subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Advise project teams on commercial and contractual issues, notices, changes, delays and payment disputes.
• Advise on MWBE/DBE compliance, regulatory requirements and compliance strategies.
• Coordinate with estimating, procurement, project management, accounting to address compliance issues.
• Support management of construction claims, mediations, arbitrations and litigation as needed.
• Assist with insurance and risk matters, including OCIPs and coverage disputes.
• Support recurring legal and corporate matters, including filings, leases, and corporate governance.
