Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB) in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for its Workers' Compensation Defense team. This full-time, in-office role supports multiple attorneys with administrative and litigation tasks in a high-volume practice.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of legal assistant experience in insurance defense, preferably in workers' compensation. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in an insurance defense law firm preferred.
• Workers' compensation defense experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Florida workers' compensation procedures; training available for the right candidate.
• Experience managing litigation deadlines, drafting legal documents, and maintaining high-volume calendars.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel; ability to coordinate with clients, carriers, and counsel.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys handling workers' compensation defense matters.
• Draft, format, proofread, and file legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and notices.
• Manage heavy calendaring: hearings, depositions, mediations, and deadlines.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely court filings and procedural compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, medical providers, and vendors.
• Maintain organized electronic case files and assist with records requests.
