Job summary

The Alabama Chapter of the American College of Cardiology is seeking a Client Account Services Specialist to manage accounts receivable, monitor aged AR, and ensure timely collections in line with internal policy.

The role interfaces with attorneys, practice group leaders, and finance leadership to resolve billing discrepancies, develop collection strategies, and implement payment plans, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three (3) plus years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in the accounts/receivable function.
• Prior law firm experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge of e-billing systems preferred.
• Experience with Aderant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily administration of the firm’s AR inventory, including developing strategies for minimizing the days outstanding of overdue accounts
• Coordinate and lead meetings with Practice Group Leaders and Partners to discuss aged AR inventory with recommended approaches and strategies for collection
• Develop system, while adhering to internal collection policy, to perform outreach to clients on past due accounts and maintain up to date collection notes in the Collections database
• Coordinate and evaluate write-off requests and recommend other approaches to reduce A/R inventory
• Maintain notes and records of attorney/client communications for A/R inventory
• Perform weekly/monthly follow-ups on payment promises and payment plans
• Prepare, maintain, and analyze internal A/R Practice Group reports
• Lead the preparation and maintenance of year-end partner projections
• Create, update and revise Excel spreadsheets as needed to support A/R functions
• Provide backup support to cash receipts staff with processing client payments by recording wires, cash and checks as needed
