Job summary

Urology Centers of Alabama is seeking a Patient Collection Specialist to manage payment collections on overdue balances before referral to outside agencies. The role emphasizes clear patient communication and accurate record-keeping.

The successful candidate will use the billing system to progress accounts, establish payment plans, and post payments daily while meeting performance benchmarks and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in medical billing/collections.
• Understanding of EOBs, copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and denial codes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients about their financial responsibility for UCA services.
• Answer calls about past-due accounts being prepared for outside collections.
• Use the billing system to move patients through the collection process.
• Document calls accurately in the patient’s account.
• Establish and set up payment arrangements in the recurring system; post payments daily.
• Meet daily/monthly benchmarks set by the supervisor.
