Job summary
The Phoenix Group in San Diego is seeking an AI Engineer to lead the firm’s AI platforms and strategic AI initiatives for legal services. You will design, implement, and promote AI-enhanced workflows, collaborate with attorneys, and drive adoption with training and governance.
This role blends hands-on development with change management, focusing on ethical, compliant AI usage and measurable improvements. You will work across departments to translate legal needs into scalable AI solutions,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or JD preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in legal technology, AI implementation, or related fields.
- Experience in Am Law 50/100 firms or equivalent.
- Understand AI platforms, legal workflows, and enterprise tech systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary expert and system administrator for legal AI platforms.
- Develop and prioritize high-impact AI use cases aligned with goals.
- Design and document AI workflows, prompts, and reusable components.
- Collaborate with attorneys to refine AI-assisted workflows and scale.
- Deliver training sessions and educational resources on AI use.
- Lead change-management initiatives promoting innovation and ethics.
- Monitor platform performance and prepare improvement reports.
- Manage relationships with AI technology vendors and coordinate updates.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, regulatory standards.
