SUMMARY: This is a part-time work study position in which you will gain experience working at a nonprofit legal organization. One of NMILC’s services is providing legal services to the New Mexico community. In this position, you will assist with legal clinics and provide support to our staff in managing administrative tasks around the office, including calling clients, organizing client files, and inputting data into our online case management database.
WHO WE ARE: New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) is a social justice organization that provides collaborative legal services, advocacy, and education opportunities for low-income immigrants in the state. Since its founding in 2010, NMILC has provided direct legal representation to more than 10,000 immigrants. NMILC’s model focuses on establishing relationships with local, state and national organizations and governmental institutions to expand access to legal services to historically marginalized immigrant communities.

Options run from Mondays – Fridays, 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm. Minimum of 8 hours per week in-person at our downtown office, preferably in blocks of 4 hours per day. If you are not available for the minimum amount of time you may be considered, but priority is given to those who can commit to the above schedule.
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
