Job summary

NC State University seeks a Non‑Tenure Track Faculty Lecturer in Accounting (part‑time, 0.225 FTE) to teach 1 to 3 courses across BSA, MAC, and MBA programs. Responsibilities include content development, assessments, and service to the department and university.

Candidates should hold a Master’s in Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with 5+ years of teaching or professional work; CPA preferred and online teaching experience valued.

• For non-master candidates, a related bachelor’s with substantial experience may suffice.

Position Overview

Non‑Tenure Track Faculty Lecturer in Accounting (part‑time, 0.225 FTE) – responsible for teaching 1 to 3 courses in areas such as accounting information systems, auditing, business and data analytics, business law, financial accounting, intermediate accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and not‑for‑profit/government accounting.

Responsibilities

• Teach 1 to 3 courses for BSA, MAC, and/or MBA programs.
• Develop and deliver course content and assessments in the assigned material areas.
• Contribute to the department, college, and university through service activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience if lacking a master’s degree).
• Professional or teaching experience related to the assignment, significant in duration and responsibility (e.g., 5+ years).
• For candidates without a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree in a related field and professional or teaching experience that outweighs the lack of a master’s degree.
• A commitment to the success of students and programs at the University.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) and experience teaching at the college or university level (preferred).
• Ability to teach in more than one area (preferred).
• Experience teaching and developing online courses (preferred).

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Professional certification related to the field if a master’s degree is not held.
• No valid NC Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License is required.
