Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Leave of Absence Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Plano, TX. You will administer employee LOA programs and serve as a primary resource for employees, managers, and HR leadership through the leave process.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on LOA administration and strong knowledge of eligibility, communications, payroll impacts, return-to-work coordination, and Paycom.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Leave of Absence administration experience.
• Experience managing leave eligibility, employee communications, leave tracking, documentation, and return-to-work coordination.
• Hands-on Paycom experience required.
• Experience entering and maintaining employee leave records and status changes in Paycom.
• Strong understanding of how leave status impacts payroll and benefits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer leaves of absence (maternity/paternity, medical, disability, military, unpaid).
• Review requests and determine eligibility per policies.
• Guide employees and managers through leave processes and required documentation.
• Coordinate leave coverage, extensions, return-to-work activities, and separations when applicable.
• Enter, review, and maintain leave information in Paycom.
• Update leave-related statuses and personnel actions in Paycom.
• Manage benefit plan arrears related to leaves and communicate amounts due.
• Review leave statuses during biweekly payroll to ensure correct payroll/benefits processing.
• Partner with payroll, benefits, accounting, HR leadership to resolve issues.
• Support transition of leave administration from third-party vendor to internal process.
• Assist with training HR Directors, managers, and employees on procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve leave processes, workflows, and systems.
• Prepare and maintain leave reports and records.
