Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist in Indianapolis, IN. The role blends on-site training with a hybrid schedule, requiring you to come onsite 23 weeks initially and about 23 days per month thereafter.

Responsibilities include managing absence programs, end-to-end leave casework, developing materials, and ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADAAA, COBRA, and related laws. This contract position offers a competitive hourly pay range and opportunities to influence return-to-work

Qualifications

• 57 years of experience working directly in leave administration.
• Hands-on experience with FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADAAA laws, LTD, STD, and COBRA.
• Proficient in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Experience in human resources, leave management, and employee relations.
• Ability to interpret and apply leave-related laws, regulations and policies.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple leave cases.
• Effective communication to educate team members and colleagues.
• Ability to come onsite 23 times per month after the training period.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of absence management programs for team members.
• Provide end-to-end case management for employees on short-term and long-term leave, ensuring compliant administration.
• Develop, update, and maintain educational materials and procedures related to absence management, disability intervention, and return-to-work processes.
• Coordinate the Disability Intervention Program to support safe and timely return to work.
• Promote quality, cost-effective outcomes balancing employee needs with regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to professionals involved in absence management.
• Monitor and facilitate successful return-to-work plans with relevant departments.
• Ensure leave administration complies with FMLA, WC, ADAAA, LTD, STD, COBRA.
• Maintain accurate documentation per organizational policies and legal requirements.
• Utilize MS Office to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation.
• Collaborate with HR and employee relations on leave-related issues.
