Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking a Leave of Absence Analyst in the United States to oversee and administer leave requests under FMLA, ADA, state/local laws, and disability plans. The role focuses on ensuring compliance and coordinating with HR.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of LOA and HR experience, a bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with unions. SHRM credentials are a plus and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Leave of Absence experience.
• 2 years of human resource experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
• Relevant experience with Union employees.
• Stakeholder Management.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track employee leave information using ADP and prepare reporting metrics.
• Oversee FMLA leave administration from initial notice through return to work.
• Communicate with employees regarding their leave responsibilities and necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with HR and managers to determine leave eligibility and support operational improvements.
• Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and disability benefits.
• Facilitate the return-to-work process for employees after extended leave.
• Maintain compliance with legal requirements and ensure confidentiality of medical documentation.
• Provide training and guidance to LOA Specialists and educate stakeholders on leave policies.
