Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist to coordinate multi-state leave of absence and accommodation requests. You will own case management from initiation through return to work, partnering with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and our third-party administrator to ensure a compliant and supportive teammate experience.

In this role you will monitor cases, maintain accurate records, communicate with stakeholders, and escalate complex situations to Benefits or HR leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience supporting leave of absence, disability, and/or workplace accommodation processes.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, state and local leave programs, and employee leave administration.
• Experience coordinating leave programs within a multi-state organization.
• Experience working with a third-party leave administrator, disability carrier, or similar vendor preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and follow-up activities in a detail-oriented environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain processes clearly and professionally.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships across multiple levels and functions of an organization.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee and medical information appropriately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate when needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary internal point of contact for leave of absence processes and case status.
• Guide teammates and leaders through initiating leave requests with the third-party administrator.
• Own internal leave case coordination from initiation through return to work or case closure.
• Coordinate with the third-party administrator regarding leave status, documentation, extensions, and return dates.
• Monitor active/pending leave cases and maintain accurate tracking of dates and actions.
• Follow up with stakeholders for outstanding information or actions.
• Communicate leave status updates to internal stakeholders while protecting confidentiality.
• Coordinate return-to-work activities and track required documentation and restrictions.
• Elevate complex, high-risk, or unusual situations to Benefits or HR leadership.
