Job summary

Neighborhood Healthcare is seeking a Leave Management Specialist to oversee employee leaves, accommodations, and workers’ compensation. You’ll manage cases from initial notice through return to work, ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance.

The role partners with HR leadership, third‑party leave administrators, Payroll, and Benefits to coordinate case activity and provide guidance to employees and managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• 4–6 years of HR, leave administration, benefits, disability/accommodation, or workers’ compensation experience.
• Knowledge of federal and California leave and accommodation requirements (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, PWFA) is preferred.
• HRIS experience required; UKG preferred.
• Experience coordinating workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently administer routine and complex employee leave cases through return to work, separation, or case closures, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, USERRA, personal leave, and other applicable leave programs.
• Serve as the primary internal liaison with the organization’s leave administrator.
• Advise employees and leaders regarding leave eligibility, documentation, timelines, and return-to-work requirements.
• Lead the interactive process for accommodation requests and monitor approved accommodations.
• Own workers’ compensation claims from initial report through return to work or closure.
• Manage return-to-work and fitness-for-duty processes and coordinate transition back to work.
