Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist to support the Total Rewards Office. This role interprets leave programs in line with FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and related laws, providing guidance on cases and disability requests, including light and temporary assignments.

Responsibilities include case management, HIPAA compliance, reporting, coordination with HR partners, and training program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or closely related field.
• Three years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations or Leave Administration (FMLA, Disability, etc.).
• Two years of managing leaves or accommodations (light duty, temporary assignments) or related training.

Responsibilities

• Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.
• Tracks leave hours and coordinates employee return to work.
• Ensures HIPAA and employee privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
