Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking a Leasing Specialist in Camden, NJ to help individuals and families find affordable housing and to support occupancy across our communities. You will greet prospective residents, conduct tours, and highlight community features while managing leasing applications and renewals.

You will ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, and related programs, and assist with rent collection and service requests.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• 1 year experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) required.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents, conduct tours, and highlight features of Conifer communities.
• Market available units, respond to inquiries, and manage leasing applications and renewals.
• Process applications and recertifications under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.
• Assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.
• Collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain property appearance and safety.
• Manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.

Leasing Specialist / Agent – Affordable Housing | Camden, NJ

Salary: $19.00 - $22.00 | Full Time | Monday–Friday | 40hrs

What You Bring As a Leasing Specialist

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• 1 year experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) required.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

Work Schedules

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections. When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities. Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours. Work schedules are subject to change based on business needs and property performance.
