Job summary

Conifer Realty LLC is seeking a Leasing Specialist to help individuals and families find affordable housing in Damascus, MD. You will support residents, ensure compliance, and provide exceptional service to keep communities full and compliant.

This role emphasizes teamwork with maintenance and office staff to maintain property standards. Requirements include 2+ years in leasing, 1 year in affordable housing programs, Fair Housing familiarity, Yardi proficiency, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• 1 year experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) required.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Champion great first impressions - greet prospective residents, conduct tours, and highlight the features that make Conifer communities special.
• Drive occupancy - market available units, respond to inquiries, and manage leasing applications and renewals.
• Ensure compliance - process applications and recertifications accurately under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.
• Deliver exceptional service - assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.
• Support teamwork - collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain high standards for property appearance and safety.
• Stay organized - manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour | Full Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
