As Leasing Specialist, you will be a key piece in how we manage our Meridian properties daily. You will be on a critical team that is responsible for helping to ensure that our tenants have the best possible rental experience. This role will report to the Property Manager and will assist in handling all leasing related tasks at the apartment communities within the region to ensure our occupancy remains strong.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Leasing Specialist you will bring a positive, upbeat, and driven attitude to help build lasting relationships with tenants and team members. This role will:

• Greet and assist prospective tenants in a professional and friendly manner
• Conduct property tours and showcase available units to potential renters
• Provide accurate information about rental properties, including pricing, amenities, and lease terms
• Process rental applications and perform background checks on applicants
• Prepare lease agreements and ensure all required documents are completed accurately
• Collect rent payments and follow up on any late or outstanding payments
• Address tenant inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests promptly and professionally
• Maintain organized files and records of tenant information, leases, and maintenance requests

Utilize company software to track leads, prospects, and tenant interactions

Assist with property maintenance tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in property leasing is required
• Experience with LIHTC/tax credit properties is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate lease terms
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for interacting with tenants and prospects
• Proficient in data entry and record keeping maintaining accurate tenant information
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
