Job summary

Brixmor Employment Company, Llc is seeking a Leasing Representative in Chicago, IL to manage a portfolio of retail properties, source tenants, negotiate leases, and build strong market-wide relationships with tenants, brokers, and ownership.

The role reports to the VP of Leasing and offers a hybrid work schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work. A base salary of $50,000 per year is complemented by a highly competitive commission plan tied to leasing success.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years leasing experience in retail leasing.
• Experience canvassing and cold calling.
• Skilled in relationship building, negotiation, mathematics, time management, and organization.
• Exhibit initiative, aggressiveness, persistence, ambition, good judgement, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to focus on many tasks and requests at once and to work independently in a high pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Source new tenants, negotiate lease parameters, analyze leases and close lease transactions.
• Negotiate and complete lease renewals (including terms; coordinate with legal and environmental teams).
• Establish tenant and industry relationships.
• Perform market surveys and cold calls.
• Develop and send marketing packages and materials to potential tenants.
• Understand demographics, traffic patterns and market trends.
• Calculate return on investment, net present value and other financial metrics.
• Be knowledgeable of competing centers and rental rates.
• Travel within the region.

Leasing Representative

Salary: $50,000.00 Annually

This position reports to the VP, Leasing and is responsible for a portfolio of retail properties. The Leasing Representative will perform all leasing activities and develop networks and strong market-wide tenant, broker, and ownership relationships and identify potential tenants.

Responsibilities:

• Source new tenants, negotiate lease parameters, analyze leases and close lease transactions
• Negotiate and complete lease renewals (including business terms; coordinate and assist with legal and environmental issues with appropriate support teams in the corporate office)
• Establish tenant and industry relationships
• Perform market surveys and cold calls
• Develop and send marketing packages and materials to potential tenants
• Thoroughly understand demographics, traffic patterns and market trends
• Calculate return on investment, net present value and other financial ratios, percentages, and measurements
• Be knowledgeable of competing shopping centers and rental rates
• Understand a situation and creatively, logically strategize alternatives and determine a course of action
• Travel throughout region

This position has a base salary of $50,000 annually. Leasing Representatives participate in a highly competitive commission plan, offering significant income potential tied directly to leasing success and individual performance. Actual total earnings will vary based on individual leasing performance and business results. This salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
