Job summary

HOUSTON APARTMENT FOUNDATION seeks an Assistant Manager / Leasing Agent to support daily operations of a multifamily community. You will assist with leasing, renewals, rent collection, and administrative duties while delivering excellent resident service.

Work closely with the Property Manager to maintain occupancy goals, maximize rental income, ensure resident satisfaction, and uphold Fair Housing and company policies across the community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in multifamily leasing or residential property management preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of leasing procedures, lease documentation, and Fair Housing requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software preferred.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the Property Manager and onsite team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to leasing inquiries by phone, email, online platforms, and walk-in traffic.
• Conduct property tours and showcase apartments, amenities, and community features.
• Follow up with prospective residents to convert leads into leases.
• Process rental applications, verify information, and coordinate screening procedures.
• Prepare lease agreements, renewals, addenda, and other leasing documents.
• Maintain guest cards, prospect records, and leasing activity reports.
• Assist with marketing, outreach, and advertising to maintain occupancy goals.
• Support rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and resident account management.
• Coordinate move-in/move-out and lease renewals.
