Job summary

DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, seeks a Leasing Professional I to review RFTA packets and assist clients and landlords with HCV program participation. The role involves processing documents, determining approvals, and maintaining rental unit records within DHA guidelines.

You will work with DHA policies, HUD requirements, and coordinate with supervisors to schedule inspections and manage landlord accounts in North Texas. Banking hours align with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two (2) years of related work experience.
• Ability to obtain Rent Calculation Certification within six months of hire.
• Valid Texas State Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Review and process RFTA documents and identify missing information.
• Provide clients and landlords with documentation indicating approval or denial of rental units in the HCV program.
• Daily documentation and logging of information received, accepted, or denied.
• Establish landlord accounts and coordinate with Leasing Professional II or Supervisor for client information and HAP contracts.
• Submit RFTA packets for scheduling of initial housing inspection.
• Maintain records of available rental units within DHA's jurisdiction.
• Research rental levels for assisted units per HUD and DHA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) documents. Provides clients and landlords with documentation identifying any required document or information that is missing and required by DHA to complete the processing of their RFTA
• Provides clients and landlords with documentation indicating approval or denial of proposed rental units participation in the HCV program.
• Daily document and log information received, accepted or denied.
• Establish Landlord accounts.
• Performs Tolling in Voyager Software.
• Coordinate with Leasing Professional II and/or Supervisor for specific client information and HAP Contract.
• Submit RFTA packets for scheduling of initial housing inspection.
• Maintain copy of available rental units in areas within DHA's jurisdiction.
• Research techniques to establish rental levels for assisted units in accordance with HUD and DHA guidelines.

• Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of HUD, DHA residential, and multi-family building codes, maintenance, health standards, and inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of public housing management and occupancy issues and requirements; scope of fair market rent, principles, practices and procedures.
• Understanding of the principles of record keeping and records management.
• Proficiency in utilizing a variety of business software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
