Job summary

Skylight Real Estate Partners is building an in-house leasing team for the Hudson River Gold Coast portfolio, including Fort Lee, Edgewater, Hoboken, and Jersey City. You will own your territory, guide prospects through the full leasing journey, and work closely with property managers to fill units.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years in leasing or customer-facing roles, strong relationship skills, excellent communication, and familiarity with leasing software and CRM tools.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of leasing, sales, or customer-facing experience.
• Strong relationship-building and decision-making skills.
• Organized and self-motivated with consistent pipeline follow-up.
• Excellent communication and adaptability to different personalities.
• Familiarity with leasing software and CRM tools.
• NJ real estate license is a plus; Skylight will assist in obtaining one.

Responsibilities

• Guide prospects through the full leasing process from inquiry to move-in.
• Build relationships with prospective residents and help them find the right home.
• Conduct in-person tours to showcase the Gold Coast lifestyle.
• Screen tenants including background and credit checks.
• Prepare and manage lease documentation for accuracy and compliance.

• Submit weekly leasing reports tracking pipeline and occupancy.

Skylight Real Estate Partners is a privately held real estate investment firm with deep experience acquiring, developing, and managing residential and commercial assets across New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Florida. Since 1998, our founding partners have collectively invested $5.5 billion of equity in assets totaling over $18 billion in gross asset value — including 9,000+ residential units and 20 million square feet of office and retail space.

We're now building our leasing team in-house across our Hudson River Gold Coast portfolio — approximately 1,500 residential units across Fort Lee, Edgewater, Hoboken, and Jersey City — and we're looking for people who love this market and want to grow with us.

The Opportunity

This is a ground-floor role on a team we're building from scratch. You'll have your own territory, a supportive team around you, and direct access to leadership. We're a smaller company with serious institutional backing — which means the work you do is visible and the growth opportunities are real.

Compensation

• Per-lease commission + quarterly performance bonuses
• On-target earnings (OTE): $80,000 - $85,000+

What You'll Do

• Guide prospects through the full leasing experience — from first inquiry to move-in
• Build relationships with prospective residents and help them find the right home
• Conduct in-person tours that bring the Gold Coast lifestyle to life
• Handle tenant screening including background and credit checks
• Prepare and manage lease documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with property managers on availability, unit readiness, and upcoming vacancies
• Support social media efforts to showcase available units and community highlights
• Submit weekly leasing reports tracking pipeline, activity, and occupancy
• Stay informed on market trends, competitive rents, and availability across the Gold Coast
• Be a reliable, friendly point of contact for prospects throughout the leasing process

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years of experience in leasing, sales, or a customer-facing role
• Someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships and helping people make decisions
• Organized and self-motivated — you stay on top of your pipeline and follow up consistently
• A strong communicator who listens well and adapts to different personalities
• Comfortable with leasing software and CRM tools
• NJ real estate license is a plus — if you don't have one, we'll help you get there
• A real appreciation for the Hudson River waterfront and what makes it a special place to live
