Job summary

Fortis Property Management is seeking a Leasing Consultant to lease apartments and maximize rent levels while delivering exceptional resident service. You will show units, quote prices, follow up with prospects, and maintain an efficient leasing program in a busy community.

No prior property management experience is required; Fortis welcomes applicants from hospitality and customer service backgrounds and offers a competitive commission/bonus structure and internal advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prior leasing/sales experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Show apartments to prospects and provide pricing information.
• Follow up with prospects and maintain an active lease pipeline.
• Ensure application paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Maintain knowledge of market and competing properties.
• Maintain an aggressive lease renewal program.
• Deliver superior customer service and enforce Fortis policies.
• Collect deposits and rents; process leases.

Weekly Hours: Full-Time

Position Overview:

The focus of the Leasing Consultant is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent levels possible and maintaining a strong customer service/satisfaction philosophy. You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident customer and service.

No experience with property management or leasing? We pride ourselves in utilizing diverse employment backgrounds. Job Description/Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Show apartments
• Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
• Accurately quote prices
• Follow up on all prospects
• Thorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
• Thorough knowledge of the surrounding community
• Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospectsProvide superior customer service
• Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
• Prepare and review leases for accuracy
• Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
• Inspect apartments for readiness
• Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
• Distribute move-in packages
• Other duties as delegated

Knowledge of and adherence to the following:

• Fair Housing policies and procedures
• ADA policies and procedures

Experience

• Prior leasing/sales experience is preferred
• Prior lease-up experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in social media preferred
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Supervision Received:

The Leasing Consultant will report to the Community Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
