Job summary

Fortis Property Management at The Palms Apartments in Charleston, SC is seeking a Leasing Consultant. This full-time, hourly role focuses on leasing up to achieve high occupancy and optimal rent, while delivering excellent resident service.

Responsibilities include showing units, quoting prices, processing applications, and managing leases. Prior leasing and sales experience is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior leasing/sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a multifamily lease-up phase is preferred.
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio).
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Show apartments to prospects and provide information via phone and in person.
• Accurately quote prices and follow up with prospects.
• Manage application paperwork and ensure proper leasing documentation.
• Maintain an aggressive lease renewal program and rent collection basics.
• Maintain knowledge of the local market and surrounding properties.
• Deliver superior customer service and represent the community professionally.

Weekly Hours: Full-Time (Hourly)

Property Location: The Palms Apartments

Property Type: Conventional/Partial Lease-Up

Position Overview:

The focus of the Leasing Consultant is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent levels possible and maintaining a strong customer service/satisfaction philosophy. You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident customer and service.

Job Description/Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Show apartments
• Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
• Accurately quote prices
• Follow up on all prospectsThorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
• Thorough knowledge of the surrounding community
• Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects
• Provide superior customer service
• Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
• Prepare and review leases for accuracy
• Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
• Inspect apartments for readiness
• Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
• Distribute move-in packages
• Other duties as delegated

Knowledge of and adherence to the following:

• Fair Housing policies and procedures
• ADA policies and procedures

Experience

• Prior leasing/sales experience is strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a multifamily lease-up phase strongly preferred
• Proficiency in social media preferred
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Supervision Received:
