Job summary

Fortis Property Management is seeking a Leasing Consultant to join The Palms Apartments team in a full‑time capacity. You will show vacant units, qualify prospects, quote rents accurately, collect deposits, and prepare leases while driving occupancy and maximizing realized rents.

Excellent customer service and communication are essential as you maintain strong relations with residents, coordinate move‑ins, renewals, and referrals.

Qualifications

• Prior leasing/sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in multifamily lease-up phases is preferred.
• Proficiency with social media is advantageous.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Property Type: Conventional/Partial Lease-Up

Position Overview:

The focus of the Leasing Consultant is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent levels possible and maintaining a strong customer service/satisfaction philosophy. You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident customer and service.

Job Description/Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Show apartments
• Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
• Accurately quote prices
• Follow up on all prospectsThorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
• Thorough knowledge of the surrounding community
• Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects
• Provide superior customer service
• Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
• Prepare and review leases for accuracy
• Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
• Inspect apartments for readiness
• Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
• Distribute move-in packages
• Other duties as delegated

Knowledge of and adherence to the following:

• Fair Housing policies and procedures
• ADA policies and procedures

Experience

• Prior leasing/sales experience is strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a multifamily lease-up phase strongly preferred
• Proficiency in social media preferred
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Supervision Received:

The Leasing Consultant will report to the Community Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
