Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Summer Intern to support Corporate Accounting’s lease accounting transformation, focusing on migrating lease data to a new platform and centralizing lease accounting.

You will gain hands-on experience with data integrity, system testing, process documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, with exposure to real-world accounting workflows and an opportunity for future full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related field.
• Introductory accounting coursework completed; lease accounting exposure is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large structured data.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cleansing and validating lease data for migration.
• Reconcile data to lease agreements and accounting records; document differences.
• Support data mapping, conversion, and identify missing or duplicate information.
• Execute system and user acceptance test scenarios; document results and issues.
• Validate migrated data and calculations for completeness and accuracy.
• Help develop process docs and control support for centralized lease accounting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data or process issues.
• Summarize status and recommendations for project expo.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
