Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional educator to support teachers and students in the classroom. The role involves working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce instruction, assess performance, and promote learning.

The position requires a Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate, or credentials meeting Praxis/GACE Parapro requirements, or equivalent PSC-approved college hours. Prior classroom experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of child development and basic office tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities necessary for student support.
• Familiarity with standard office equipment and media devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students by working with students individually or in small groups to assess performance, reinforce instruction, motivate learning, and support classroom management.
• Support teachers in supervising learning activities, circulate in the classroom, and provide learning support to students.
• Provide instruction as prescribed by the supervising teacher and reinforce skills introduced by the teacher. Use games or stories to enhance learning.
