Job summary

Abacus Group is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join our Manhattan, NY office. You will collaborate with learning leaders to develop, deliver, and assess training across professional, technical, leadership, and onboarding topics.

You will design customized learning experiences, facilitate sessions, coordinate multiple initiatives, and create engaging content with internal and external experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in organizational development, organizational psychology, or related field is a plus.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in learning and development or related field.
• Experience designing or delivering learning programs in professional effectiveness, written communication, manager development, onboarding, or financial/technical skills.
• Interest in generative AI (GAI) and its application to learning and development.
• Ability to quickly research and synthesize information and communicate clearly.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

• Collaborate with learning leaders and stakeholders to develop, deliver, and assess training programs across professional, technical, leadership, and onboarding topics
• Design customized learning experiences using workshops, coaching sessions, simulations, guides, and other blended learning formats
• Facilitate training sessions and learning programs aligned with business needs and learner goals
• Coordinate multiple learning initiatives simultaneously, managing timelines, stakeholders, and project execution from planning through delivery
• Create engaging content and resources in partnership with internal and external subject matter experts
• Evaluate learning effectiveness and gather insights to improve program outcomes and learner experiences
• Research emerging AI trends and identify opportunities to enhance learning design, delivery methods, and organizational impact

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree in organizational development, organizational psychology, or a related discipline is a plus
• 5-7 years of professional experience including time spent in learning and development or a related field
• Demonstrated experience designing and/or delivering learning and development programming in one or more of the following areas: professional effectiveness, written communication, manager development, onboarding, and/or financial and technical skills
• Demonstrated interest in generative AI (GAI) and its practical application to learning and developmentn
• Ability to quickly get up to speed on new content areas by researching and synthesizing a wide range of information and conveying it clearly and concisely
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
