JOB TITLE: Learning Environment Specialist

REPORTS TO: Studio Managing Director
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
JOB TYPE: Full time
COMPENSATION: $85k-$100k base + commission
LOCATIONS: Roanoke, VA; Richmond, VA; Morgantown, WV; Huntington, WV; Charleston, WV
This is a remote position. However, applicants must live in the geographical area listed on the job posting.

Summary Of Position
At Meteor Education, we help schools transform learning experiences by aligning pedagogy, space, and technology. Our Learning Environment Specialists develop client relationships and work with project teams to deliver impactful learning environments. Responsibilities include generating revenue through building qualified pipelines, acquiring target clients, and fostering long-term customer relationships with support from marketing, business development, and support teams.
Essential Responsibilities
Growth Strategy
- Develop account strategies, territory planning, and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Create quarterly business plans aligned with marketing strategies
- Prospect for new accounts and opportunities
- Secure new customers, manage time effectively for calls and meetings
- Increase sales revenue at or above target margins
Customer Experience
- Manage customer relationships before, during, and after sales
- Involve Learning Experience Coordinators and Interior Designers to create Prosocial Learning Environments
- Engage stakeholders at various levels to facilitate change
- Manage existing client renewals and relationships
- Coordinate with support teams during project fulfillment
General
- Become a product and learning experience expert, communicate effectively
- Travel 3+ days a week
- Conduct presentations and product demos
- Complete sales reports
- Participate in trade shows and professional development
- Attend an in-person cultural orientation and possibly other travel for company events
Requirements
Qualifications
- Consultative selling skills focusing on qualification of prospects
- Self-starter capable of working independently
- At least 3 years of field sales experience, preferably in K-12 education
- Ability to prospect and manage a large pipeline
- Skills in Prospecting, Territory Management, Negotiation, Closing, etc.
- Experience closing B2B deals from $5,000 to over $50,000
- Strategic thinking, attention to detail, excellent communication
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma required
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
- Proficient in business applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, web search)
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Requires talking, hearing, using hands, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and vision abilities. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
