JOB TITLE: Learning Environment Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Carolina/Virginia Studio

REPORTS TO: Studio Managing Director

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB TYPE: Full time

COMPENSATION: $85k-$100k base + commission

LOCATIONS: Roanoke, VA; Richmond, VA; Morgantown, WV; Huntington, WV; Charleston, WV

**This is a remote position. However, applicants must live in the geographical area listed on the job posting.**

SUMMARY OF POSITION

At Meteor Education, we are passionate about transforming learning experiences by aligning pedagogy, space, and technology to positively impact teaching and learning. Our Learning Environment Specialists develop client relationships and collaborate with project teams to deliver transformational learning environments. Their duties include generating revenue by building a qualified pipeline, acquiring target clients, and fostering long-term customer relationships with support from our marketing, business development, and support teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Growth Strategy

  • Develop account strategies, territory plans, and manage administrative tasks to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Create and utilize quarterly business plans aligned with marketing strategies through account analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and customer insights.
  • Prospect for new accounts and business opportunities.
  • Secure new customers by engaging in field visits, obtaining initial and repeat orders, and managing time effectively to call on existing and potential customers.
  • Increase sales revenue at or above target margins through business development activities.

Customer Experience

  • Manage the customer relationship before, during, and after sales.
  • Involve Learning Experience Coordinators and Interior Designers in the sales process to create Prosocial Learning Environments.
  • Engage high-level stakeholders to gain consensus and facilitate change in learning environments.
  • Manage existing client renewals and relationships.
  • Coordinate with support teams during project fulfillment to ensure client satisfaction.

General

  • Become an expert in Meteor's products and learning experiences, effectively communicating benefits to promote offerings.
  • Travel 3+ days a week as needed.
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Maintain sales reports.
  • Participate in trade shows and professional organizations for networking and development.
  • Attend an in-person cultural orientation (~1 week) at our Gainesville, FL office, with travel expenses paid by Meteor. Travel to company meetings and events may also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Consultative selling skills focusing on qualification of prospects' budget, authority, need, and timing.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently.
  • Minimum 3 years of field sales experience with proven results; experience in K-12 education is a plus.
  • Ability to prospect for new business and manage a large pipeline efficiently.
  • Skills in Prospecting, Territory Management, Time Management, Presentation, Negotiation, Closing, Problem Solving, and Customer Service.
  • Experience closing B2B deals ranging from $5,000 to over $50,000.
  • Strategic thinking, planning, and action capability.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to pass criminal background and drug screening.
  • Proficiency in business applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and web searching.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Requires talking, hearing, using hands, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, and focus adjustment. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
