SCHEDULE

PAY, BENEFITS, AND PERKS
Hiring Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00
- Safe and Sick time earned at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
SUMMARY
The Learning and Development (L&D) Intern will be exposed to many Learning & Development functions within the department, with an emphasis on training administration, content support, and event logistics, helping champion Bigos's core value of development and culture of learning across the organization. The incumbent will gain extensive knowledge and skills working closely with our L&D Business Partners to support the administrative work behind training delivery, event production, and onboarding. This is a full-time, temporary (approximately 6 months) position. Recent college graduates (or those finishing their final credits online) with a bachelor's degree in Adult Learning, Education, Instructional Design, or Human Resources, looking to gain valuable hands‑on experience are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Administration
- Assists with auditing, tracking, creating, and updating training content and materials
- Uploads and maintains content in the Learning Management System (LMS); tracks completion and pulls training reports as needed
- Monitors LMS for incomplete required training and sends reminder communications to employees/managers
- Assists with maintaining accurate registration records for internal and external learning opportunities
- Troubleshoots basic LMS access issues, escalating more complex issues to Business Partners as needed
- Administers the education/tuition reimbursement request process, verifying eligibility and documentation, tracking approvals and reimbursement status, and maintaining records for audit purposes
- Assists with tracking employee certifications and license renewal deadlines and sends renewal reminders
- Works closely with L&D Team to complete other duties as assigned
Onboarding and Training Support
- Assists with maintaining and updating onboarding learning plans across roles
- Tracks new hire progress through onboarding curriculum and flags gaps to the Business Partners
- Ensures managers have the training needed to onboard new hires, and connects them with the L&D Business Partner if additional support is needed
- Assists with facilitating training sessions and classes
Event and Special Projects
- Coordinates logistics for training sessions, workshops, and conferences as needed, including booking rooms/vendors, confirming AV/equipment needs, preparing and printing materials, and monitoring registration
- Develops a working knowledge of operational policies and procedures relevant to L&D initiatives
- Works closely with L&D Team to maintain a strong culture and enhance the employee experience
- Actively participates in projects to bring key initiatives to closure by the deadline
Communication
- Demonstrates professionalism and communicates effectively with the L&D Team, all other internal employees, and external partners
- Assists with creating recaps, running reports, and creating documents to share with internal customers
- Assists with survey administration and compiling feedback data as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
To be considered, applicants will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (or currently completing final coursework online in one of these fields prior to graduation)
- Must have a strong desire to learn, and the ability to catch on quickly in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrated high spirit to serve with prior customer service experience a must
- Proven ability to multi-task, as well as work independently and in a team setting
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Property Management experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have reliable transportation and valid state driver's license and proof of insurance as travel between sites is required
- Fluent in English and skilled in oral and written communication
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy in a clear, courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and the public
- Ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
- Excellent communicator (oral and written) including the desire to ask questions and learn from co-workers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
