Job summary

Landscape Alliance (CIFOR & ICRAF in Action) seeks a Consultant – Learning Designer to craft engaging online and blended learning on sustainable landscape finance. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to design competency-based curricula, develop content and e-learning materials, and ensure accessibility and impact across diverse learners.

This remote consultancy lasts 12 months, with candidates in Africa or Europe.

Qualifications

Excellent understanding of principles of pedagogy for sustainable development and adult education.
Experience with online learning design and learning management systems.
Experience with instructional design models (ADDIE, SAMR, backward design).
5+ years of experience in leading instructional/learning design, or an undergraduate degree in instructional design, pedagogy or a related field.
Understanding of WordPress CMS and data management systems or an undergraduate degree in instructional design, pedagogy or a related field.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and analysis for course scoping with subject matter experts and project staff.
Lead training needs analysis; define learner profiles, learning gaps and competencies.
Define measurable learning objectives and align with activities and assessments.
Develop course outlines, scripts, prototypes and SCORM-compliant modules.
Build courses in selected authoring tools and ensure accessibility and platform compliance.
Coordinate with subject matter experts for content, feedback and approvals.
Collaborate on content/assets, ensure accuracy and relevance for learners.
Provide learner support and foster a collaborative learning community.
Support course marketing and outreach.
