Job summary

Ascendium Education Solutions seeks a Writer to turn learning goals into clear, engaging digital experiences—lessons, emails, product copy, and resources that empower learners to succeed.

Based in Madison, WI, this role offers a hybrid schedule with in-person collaboration three days a week and remote two days. You’ll partner with the content strategist, learning experience designer, and product management to deliver high-quality content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, journalism, communications, English, social sciences, or similar field.
• 3+ years creating digital content that helps people learn and act on complex information.
• Exceptional writing and critical thinking with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
• Strong instructional instincts and ability to sequence information for learners.
• Conversational voice for college-age and young adult audiences; edit with warmth.
• Ability to adapt content for different audiences and formats.

Responsibilities

• Draft original digital learning content including lesson intros, core content, interactions, quizzes, reflections, and outros.
• Translate goals into thoughtful learning experiences considering learner needs.
• Create learner-facing resources, emails, notifications, product copy, and other content across the digital experience.
• Write in a warm, approachable voice suitable for different audiences and topics.
• Transform complex topics into clear, concise, mobile-friendly content with accuracy.
• Work within brand voice, reading level, formatting, and UI/content design standards.
• Ensure lessons support learning goals and fit into the wider curriculum with continuity.
• Revise content incorporating feedback while preserving intent and coherence.
• Collaborate with content strategist, learning experience designer, product management, and stakeholders.
• Manage multiple content types and projects at different stages; continue learning new subjects.
• Assist CMS implementation by preparing copy, formatting interactive components, and reviewing rendered content.
