Qualifications

• ALA-accredited graduate degree in library and information science.
• Five years of professional experience in academic librarianship.
• Three years management/supervisory experience.
• Understanding of and experience with Integrated Library Systems (ILS).
• Knowledge of electronic resources employed by libraries.
• Aptitude with productivity software.
• Experience with electronic resource licensing including consortium agreements and direct connections with vendors.
• Experience with assessment efforts and accreditation guidelines specific to libraries.
• The ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff and administration.
• A strong commitment to the university’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief administrative officer of the library.
• Provide visionary leadership of library operations to align services with institutional needs.
• Participate in faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees as appointed by the Provost.
• Oversee collection development with emphasis on electronic resources.
• Prepare and manage the library’s budget.
• Build relationships with other libraries, networks and consortia for the common good.
