Job summary

Aviation Advisor, Inc. seeks an experienced Captain for Learjet 45 series aircraft to lead flight operations as PIC while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The Captain serves as the company's representative to passengers, upholding professional standards and safety in all operations. Responsibilities include preflight inspections, flight planning, weight/balance analysis, and supervising the crew to maintain punctuality and high service levels.

Qualifications

  • ATPL with multi-engine rating and PIC experience preferred.
  • Valid First Class medical certificate is required.
  • Proficiency in radiotelephony communications.
  • Ability to pass drug tests and TSA background screenings.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Residence within a two-hour commute of the base, relocation considered.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to schedules and SOPs for aircraft operation.
  • Perform preflight inspections and weather analysis.
  • Review flight plans and weight/balance calculations.
  • Monitor fuel burn and aircraft performance for safety.
  • Coordinate crew duties and company policy adherence.
  • Respond to start/delay/cancel deviations and communicate with crew.
  • Maintain professional representation to passengers.
  • Work nonstandard hours including weekends/holidays.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable passenger experience.

Job description

As the Captain for Learjet 45 Series aircraft, you will be entrusted with the safe execution of flights, holding the ultimate authority in the aircraft's operation. Your primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and foreign regulations, as well as adhering to company policies and procedures outlined in the operations manual. Captains play a crucial role as the company's prominent representative to passengers, requiring the highest level of professionalism while ensuring the efficiency and safety of operations. Operations are conduced under FAR Part 91 and 135.

Key Job Functions:
  • Act as Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Adhere to schedules and directives governing aircraft operation
  • Conduct preflight inspections
  • Study weather conditions for destinations, en route, alternate airports, and departure points
  • Prepare or review flight plans
  • Ensure the aircraft is well-maintained and provisioned for passenger safety and comfort
  • Review and calculate weight and balance, fuel burn, and aircraft performance
  • Utilize checklists as per Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Supervise the first officer for smooth and efficient operation
  • Coordinate the functioning of all assigned crew members
  • Make decisions related to flight start, delay, cancellation, or deviation from planned routes based on operating conditions
  • Remain available to crew and departmental staff during duty hours through company communication channels
  • Work nonstandard schedules, including weekends and holidays
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and excellent follow-through
Qualifications:
  • Multi-Engine Land Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL)
  • Current First Class medical certificate
  • Proficient in radiotelephony communications
  • Ability to pass drug tests, TSA background screenings, and obtain ID badge and ramp driving privileges
  • Valid passport and driver's license
  • Reside within a two-hour personal commute time from the listed base (consideration for relocation)
Education / Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Proficiency in business software: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • 1500 PIC time
  • 200 hours of multi-engine time
  • ATP or ATP written
