Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise a team in our Inspection Center. You will oversee daily operations, mentor leadership staff, and drive strategic plans to meet quality, production, and cost objectives.

You will lead a lean manufacturing environment, ensuring adherence to standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strong associate engagement. This role reports to operations leadership and requires hands-on supervision and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results
• Strong analysis and decision making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
• Requires standing for extended periods... safety gear may be required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans aligning with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters communication and teamwork and aligns with Carvana’s Values.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train supervisory staff.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes.
• Train and mentor leads by providing feedback.
• Maintain production capacity for each line and assist with planning.
• Ensure health and safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team for performance metrics.
• Reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
