Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Manager of Operational Excellence to design, implement, and optimize the lean manufacturing strategy across all units. You will drive value stream efficiency, optimize resources, and ensure alignment with output, cost, quality, and lead time goals.

You will lead lean deployment, develop training tools, and standardize problem solving while mentoring teams and reporting progress to executive leadership. A strong focus on ITAR/ISO adherence is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in complex assembly production environments.
• 3+ years leading manufacturing teams in a product development setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field; or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own lean manufacturing implementation across all business units.
• Develop and maintain lean training tools, boot camps, workshops, and kaizen/project funnels.
• Standardize problem solving methodologies and deploy training content.
• Conduct value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and implement VSM tracking centers.
• Deploy Lean to reduce waste and variation.
• Facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events and improvement workshops.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvements.
• Establish visual daily management systems with KPI tracking across levels.
• Develop cost-benefit analyses for capital projects and process changes.
• Train and mentor supervisors, engineers, and frontline teams in lean principles.
• Act as change agent to promote ownership and continuous improvement.
