Job summary

AV in Utah is seeking a Manager of Operational Excellence to lead the lean manufacturing strategy across our production network. You will drive value stream efficiency, develop training tools, and mentor supervisors and engineers in lean principles.

Responsibilities include conducting value stream mapping, deploying kaizen events, analyzing data for root causes, and reporting ROI to executive leadership. Travel up to 50% is expected; AS9100/ISO 9001 and ITAR compliance are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in complex assembly production environments.
• 3+ years leading manufacturing teams within a product development environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency in process simulation tools, time studies, and data analytics.
• Strong leadership, project management, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
• Adaptable in fast-paced, evolving environments and strategic thinker.

Responsibilities

• Lead lean manufacturing implementation across all units.
• Develop & maintain lean training tools, boot camps, workshops, kaizen & PM funnels.
• Standardize problem solving methodology and deployment strategy.
• Conduct value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and implement tracking centers.
• Deploy Lean to reduce variation, waste, and non-value-added activities.
• Facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events and improvement workshops.
• Analyze production data for trends, root causes, and opportunities.
• Establish visual and daily management KPI systems for performance.
• Develop cost-benefit analyses for capital projects and changes.
• Mentor supervisors, engineers, and frontline teams in lean principles.
• Act as a change agent, promoting ownership and continuous improvement.
• Build lean maturity roadmaps and assess readiness for transformation.
• Partner with Ops, Quality, Eng, Supply Chain, and PM to align initiatives.
• Interface with executive leadership to report progress and ROI.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with local teams and foster CI culture across units.
