Job summary

AGSE Group in the United States is seeking a Production Planning Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for high‑volume production. You will develop schedules, coordinate with procurement, and drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements to reduce waste and improve throughput.

You will lead cross‑functional efforts with design engineering, QA, and supply chain, create standard work and KPIs, and ensure documentation aligns with quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field; Master’s or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years in manufacturing planning or production engineering in a low mix high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust short- and long-term production schedules based on forecasts, inventory, and labor.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain to ensure materials are available for production.
  • Collaborate with floor teams to adjust schedules in response to downtime or staffing changes.
  • Conduct time studies and bottleneck analyses to identify efficiency gains and waste reduction.
  • Apply Lean principles (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to improve processes.
  • Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects with measurable results.
  • Evaluate plant capacity and optimize staffing, shifts, and machine usage.
  • Develop inventory policies and monitor levels to reduce carrying costs.
  • Perform cost analyses and implement cost-saving process changes.
  • Create and maintain SOPs and process documentation; ensure alignment with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to integrate changes into documentation.
  • Work with Quality to address issues using root-cause analysis; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Train staff on new processes and Lean principles.
